We are maybe getting ahead of ourselves, but steak and champagne are go for tomorrow night.
If it doesn't happen, there is still steak and champagne, with bonus weeping.

Well, the world is still here. Guess I'll brace for the end on October 21st.
In the meantime, I'll just continue my Somerville existence. House is full of books, beer, and cats. Also Wes, who spends his time terrorizing said cats and shitting merrily in the dining room. Guess I worried for naught. He keeps charging up to them, trying to figure out what they are. D'Argo knocked over some boxes in his haste to get away from the galloping rabbit. Sad animal.
Pictures soon, so you can see our library which contains some hilarious overlap: two Scott Pilgrim runs, two copies of Snowcrash, Harumi Murakami like you wouldn't believe, Amphigories, and so on. We're probably going to have three Transmet runs once everyones full collection returns to them.

Indefinitely:
Today I [went to work/had the day off]. Around 10AM I [watched office dudes practice their swings as they took a conference call/made tea and sat outside on the porch]. Dinner today was [awesome/oversalted]. I'm getting better at preparing [beef/empanadas/eggplant parmigiana]. Drawing is [happening/not happening/help i miss studio oh god wangst]. I passed out on the floor at about [11PM/12AM] and Wes [did/did not] spray me good night.

Pretty much the only thing I pay attention to in the Olympics. Dudes have HUGE upper bodies and tiny man waists~
And now a food meme:
1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you've eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.

Operation: Fetch Fat Ass will be underway this weekend. Josiah got a zipcar called ESPN for the trip to New York, which amuses me much more than it should. Perhaps it will have magical transformative qualities and I will emerge a meaty DudeBrah, redolent of Miller and Axe.

(Saw this dude up close and for real on Tuesday ahhh he is my favorite forever)
I don't know how people found jobs and apartments in other states before the internet. Real life networking? Pshaw.
So yeah. Working on getting everything worked out, looking for a decent dayjob (Mm, medical insurance. How delightful you would be~), and a roof. It's very strange, planning to all live together again. Looking into new banks, new gyms, hauling out my old bike, poring over new maps. We're cobbling everything together and hoping it all somehow...works.
Scrawlings have taken a backseat to the frenzy, I can't believe how much time living takes. Gonna try to unpack the shiny new scanner that arrived, put some stuff up. Been wrestling with the tablet, which feels like learning how to draw all over again.
Frrr.

Today:
Slept for three hours, couldn't get back to sleep. Read Kitchen Confidential until dawn.
Observed Moms arepa de huevo technique.
Made one successful arepa de huevo
A pilfered image, which makes it no less accurate
Attempted to attend Summerstage.
Trapped beneath bridge by angry, angry rain.
Sang Happy Birthday to a fellow bridge troll along with 70 other bridge trolls.
Escaped bridge, went home.
Made delicious cold cucumber soup which probably tastes more like cold dill soup DILL IS DELICIOUS
Raged at current lack of The World Ends with You in this borough.
Will probably wake up at like 5 am again, luckily I am armed with books.

Reading Snow Crash (for the first time ever) in 2008 is kind of unnerving. It's basically here, the Metaverse is Second Life. He even called the penis avatars. The meatspace technology, like smartwheels and Rat Things seems like it'll come 'round in about 20-30 years.
(Also, Hiro Protagonist? Stephenson has got a hilarious set of writers balls)
OH INTERNET, I require advice. Anybody have recommendations for an awesome scanner and/or a tablet? I'll need the scanner whenever I manage to grab more freelance, so it should be nearly professional quality I guess. I wish I could afford one with a 12x17 bed, but neh. Also I am woefully ignorant about tablets, Wacoms sound like the way to go. Do people find having a bigger drawing area matters or nah? I'll probably go for a 6x8 Intuos or something.
And still no dayjob! The deeper we get into summer, the more I look through Boston listings.

The highlight of MoCCA was Matt Madden swinging his baby at me.
Sweltering Chinatown adventure was fun too.

Hiding out, eating, reading, and watching food shows. (Anthony Bourdain is hilarious) Wish I knew why I feel so guilty about trying to relax for a few weeks. It's ridiculous. I just want be able to fall asleep without worrying that everything I learned is slipping away.
guess I forgot to ( MEME )
